Most of my friends are my age or slightly older and yet virtually none of them want children… ever. They argue that women deserve respect and autonomy over their bodies. I passionately agree. A few of these friends are, like me, engaged or married, but even they don’t want kids. One of my engaged friends says she and her fiancé may want to adopt children later in life, after they’ve had the chance to travel extensively.

It had never occurred to me to visit [a Planned Parenthood].... And yet, in a culture where the rights and healthcare needs of people assigned female at birth are constantly under attack, it’s easy, even for someone like me, to have warped ideas about exactly what one will experience.

[CN: abortion, death, pregnancy] Even though Catholic hospitals receive billions in taxpayer dollars, they systematically deny critical care.

Oklahoma is NOT OK. At least, not for people who want full reproductive autonomy.

This weekend, she took to CNN and fielded a question about Trump’s recent statements about abortion, wherein he suggested that the official Republican platform should include room for exceptions to an all-out abortion ban in the cases of rape, incest, or risk to the life and health of the mother.

The first time I felt like I had lost control of my body was over six years ago, when I found out I was pregnant. Biology and time and every facet of my human existence seemed to be working against me. I was afraid and ashamed, because I could have been smarter and more accurate with my birth control and I wasn’t too young or too dumb. I knew better. But, thankfully, there was something I could do about it.
