I'm a few months from turning ... hang on, I have a little vomit in my throat ... 35. I know, I know. It's not that old.

Some days I feel like a Botticelli, some days I feel like a sexy, dumpy baby. Even when I am naked, my frame of reference is limited. I have not seen too many positive, mainstream depictions of bodies like mine.

My relationship to him was such that, for most of my friends and family, to think of Depp is to think immediately of me — my parents and most of my aunts and uncles even refer to him as “Johnny,” as if he were a personal friend.

No matter what color or creed you are, it’s obvious that tolerance is a journey that the entire human race is embarking on right now as we speak. Let’s stop asking if things are acceptable, and instead, simply accept them.

No shame. No room for good, old-fashioned, parent-shaming from ignorant onlookers who may have assumed my husband and I are too weak to ignore the siren call of easily portable Apple products in order to avoid having to actually converse with one another when out in public.

Fat shaming is wrong in any guise, and people who are trying to be funny (and/or trying to cover for a woefully incompetent press secretary) will just have to do better than relying on cheap stereotypes, shaming, and bigotry.

When you are dealing with soaring temperatures and direct sunlight, your direct needs become very obvious and immediate: stay hydrated, protect your skin, and keep your internal temperature under control.
