I’m not even a mother yet, but I’ve never felt as disparaged in my life as I do now, as a pregnant mom-to-be. To be shamed while pregnant is so upsetting.
Read...My daughter nursed (and was supplemented with formula, then milk) for 18 months, and when we weaned, it was because we were ready. After that first bottle, I should have realized that supplementing was great for both me and my daughter.
Read...Nannies are for mothers. Nannies pick up the "slack" for the mothers who aren't cutting it. Practically no one has ever said, “That guy is really not handling this whole “dad” thing. He should really hire a nanny.” Fathers don't need slack picked up. Fathers are allowed to be gone. Fathers do not apologize for their career choices.
Read...Mom friends were the ones to whom you were supposed to spill all those dark parenting thoughts. I wanted that mom-magic. I knew it was out there somewhere.
