Did this summer’s release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child have you longing for more time in the wizarding world? Do you wish you were headed to Platform 9 3/4 next week? Do you just need more Potter?
Well, look no further than Pottermore! (See what I did there? More Potter → Pottermore? What! I’m funny. Oh ok, never mind.)
The official Harry Potter site will be releasing three short e-books on September 6 (tragically, too late to be good for passing the time on the Hogwarts Express, but maybe good common-room reading in the evenings).
The books will contain archival materials from the Pottermore site, all written by Potter author J.K. Rowling. According to the release on the Pottermore news page:
Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide dives into the nooks and crannies of the beloved wizarding school itself… Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists explores the darker roots of the wizarding world… Finally, in Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies, Pottermore celebrates the colourful staff of Hogwarts.
The stories promise to delve into details of wizarding life such as the job of the Sorting Hat, the horrors inside Azkaban, and why the Black family chooses such odd names. There will be one entirely new short story about Professor Slughorn included with the existing material.
The e-books will be available at Pottermore as well as Muggle sites like Amazon, iBooks, and Barnes and Noble.
