Dr. Joan Swart received her doctorate in forensic psychology at the Eisner Institute for Professional Studies in Encino, CA, an M.S. (forensic psychology specialization) at Walden University in Minnesota, MN, and also holds an MBA. She is currently practicing independently as a forensic psychologist, working with mindfulness and cognitive behavioral-based therapy and research at the Apsche Institute, Leesburg, VA.
She is a lecturer in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for doctoral students at the Eisner Institute. Joan also serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Behavioral Consultation and Therapy and acts as chair person for the Peer Review Journal Committee of the American Investigative Society of Cold Cases. She has published several articles and has a book forthcoming at Springer Publishing on mindfulness-based family therapy.
