Abby Martin, freshly minted badass (and news anchor for Moscow's English-speaking T.V. network) openly denounced Russia's invasion of Ukraine in what commentators are calling a move of journalistic bravery and what we're calling totally awesome:
What Russia did is wrong. I will not sit here and apologize or defend military aggression.
Her network, Russia Today (RT) is Kremlin-funded and is widely criticized for promulgating Russian propaganda—even extending to its general coverage of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The latitude given to RT journalists is unclear, though Martin claims she has editorial independence.
