Safe sex ads can be a real bore. You know what's less boring? Placing a condom on a banana in health class. (Just try not to hit your hot teacher in the face.)
The Terrence Higgns Trust charity borrowed a note from health classes across the nation and made a fun video about safe sex with bananas speaking in Scottish accents.
Really. We can't make up this stuff.
In the seven minute video — made by Microdot Films — two bananas meet in the club. Naturally, they take it to the bedroom and come across that awkward moment about condom usage. From there, they school the viewer on fun facts about sexually transmitted infections. (YAY! Don't you just looove those?)
“Testing is important and really easy, and you can get tested in sexual health clinics, community clinics, or at home,” the banana said. “Testing is totally free.”
Listen to the banana. Trust the banana.
The rest of the video describes different types of penises with the visual help of a carrot, squash, and zucchini. (Oh my!)
The soundtrack alone makes the vid worthwhile. It samples Rocky’s theme, the Bee Gees' “Stayin Alive,” 10CC’s “I’m Not in Love,” and Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl.”
We don't know what to say, so let's just quote Gwen herself:
“This shit is bananas! B - A - N - A - N - A - S!”
