"I get asked regularly why I'm using a handicapped placard. Or if I'm using my wheelchair and I get out of the wheelchair someone will say, 'Oh, I guess you didn't need it because you stood up.' The experience of being sick all the time itself is difficult, but then to have to constantly defend it and have this like burden of proof on the person experiencing illness is a really fundamental problem."
