"I'm running a ketamine infusion therapy program. It's an anesthetic and was also a club drug, but at lower doses it has an immediate antidepressant property. So you give it intravenously, and it performs for people with serious depression, who have not responded to anything else –– and they're better. Their lives are changed. It's not FDA approved, but we're now working with the American Psychiatric Association task force for ketamine therapy, putting together guidelines for how it should be used. It's one of those things –– in mental health we use so many things that are not FDA approved for depression. We are on the front lines, dealing with people who are really suffering. And it's not the hugest market for big pharma. Ketamine is generic, so it's inexpensive."
