On Easter Sunday, a group of Christian worshippers in Guelph, Canada, met for the first time to talk Jesus at...a strip joint! The reason was not to call for divine intervention on the act of unholy stripping or to pray to big J for another lap-dance (as far as we know). Rather, these devotees were looking to spread the Good Word to some possible ne'er-do-wells in the area, particularly those at a nearby transitional house. That's right. The Manor held its first-ever service on Easter Sunday, no less.
Which leads us to our very favorite quote of the day.
“Some people think we’re crazy. Some people think it’s really great. Speaking to people in the adjacent areas and our tenants, they all thought it was a good idea. They normally don't go to church so they felt if there was a service here they would probably show up.— Sam Cohen, owner of The Manor
Hey, religious participation is in decline, people! Whatever it takes...
