There is currently an unattractive stream of mascara assaulting my cheeks right now...
Back in November, the Philippines were devastated by Typhoon Haiyan. Last count, there were at least 7,000 people dead and millions more were injured or left without homes. Some towns may never recover. And economics wise? We're looking at $225 million worth of agricultural damage.
In the depths of this nightmare, the people of the Philippines have found a reason to smile. Watch them dance along to Pharrell's "Happy" in the video below for some perspective on life. We get so obsessed with largely meaningless stuff (our appearance, smartphones, T.V. shows, boys that like us, boys that don't us, etc. etc. etc.) that we often forget that just being alive is reason enough to be happy.
