When Philip Seymour Hoffman tragically passed away, it put the filming of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay in limbo. When he died, at least one key scene featuring his character, Plutarch Heavensbee, had yet to be filmed. Now film sources are sharing their solution: using CGI to digitally recreate him on screen.
This is understandable, but underscores just how sad the situation is. CGI may be able to recreate Hoffman's physical form, but it can never reveal the human qualities he so vividly brought to life.
